The lean low trailer is equipped with one or more axles at both ends. The trailer can therefore remain autonomous and stable, regardless of the distribution of the load. The big advantage of a lean low trailer is the stable handling and high payload. As a disadvantage the purchase price should be mentioned. The lean low trailer is slightly more expensive than a middle axle variant because of the turntable. Another drawback is that a combination of motor vehicle and trailer has two pivot points, namely at the coupling and at the turntable. This requires a little more skill from the driver.
The center axle or center axle trailer is connected to the motor vehicle via a drawbar. The most obvious feature is that the axles are in the middle of the trailer, so that the trailer needs a support to stand solo. This type of trailer is comparable to a trailer that is often used behind the car. Although there is often a jockey wheel for trailers behind the car.
